Contact UsWhat Are Chemical Peels?
For the best results from chemical peel treatments, Essential Dermatology Group provides you with numerous choices, like the VI Peel®. We also incorporate chemical solutions, such as phenol, salicylic, trichloroacetic, and tretinoin acids, to give you more radiant skin. At our Bedford, TX office, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Calvin Williams offers VI peel treatments that solve skin flaws, including fine lines, wrinkles, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. VI peels dissolve damaged, dead skin cells. You will notice a clearer, smoother complexion when your skin recovers and begins to repair and rejuvenate itself. A chemical peel facial is a customized nonsurgical procedure to make your complexion bright and can be used for the neck and face.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
For your chemical peel treatment at Essential Dermatology Group, we will have you lying down in a relaxed position. A member of our team will ensure your skin is cleansed before applying the VI Peel solution to your face, neck, or both. We will massage the solution onto the skin and let it work for an appropriate length of time, which will be discussed in your chemical peel consultation. Finally, we will clean the solution off of your skin and put on a neutralizing agent. Patients are recommended to bring sunscreen or a hat to wear outside after the peel to avoid sun exposure.

About UsChemical Peels FAQs
What level should I choose for my chemical peel?
Which level of chemical peel is best for you will vary based on your specific skin concerns and cosmetic goals. In your consultation at Essential Dermatology Group, Dr. Williams can help you choose which peel is best for your skin. Some things you might want to consider are your overall health, your skin type, how deep you want the peel to work, the time you can commit to recovery, and what concerns you have about the appearance of your skin. Initially, it may be better to start with a light chemical peel and decide what you think of the results. From there, you and Dr. Williams may alter your treatment plan to decide the best chemical peel level for you.
Should I get a chemical peel or dermabrasion treatment?
Dermabrasion and chemical peels are both facial rejuvenation procedures that correct surface blemishes to give your skin a rejuvenated appearance. The difference is that dermabrasion requires special tools (a shaving instrument or rotating brush ) to remove the surface skin layer with a careful exfoliating process. A chemical peel uses a caustic solution that is applied to your skin to dissolve dead and damaged skin cells. In your initial consultation, Dr. Williams will discuss the pros and cons of each and help you decide if dermabrasion or a chemical peel is best for your skin goals.
How much does a chemical peel cost?
Dr. Williams will go over your costs in your consultation as soon as he has made your personalized treatment plan. Costs for a chemical peel can vary based on the level you get. Essential Dermatology Group accepts several payment methods, and you can ask about current specials on facial treatments like chemical peels. You may also consider buying a package of several chemical peel treatments.
