What Is Laser Vascular Treatment?

Although there are varying types of vascular lesions, spider veins are some of the most common. Usually found on the face and legs, spider veins are small, branching blood vessels that are visible through the skin. Caused by many factors, like age and genetics, spider veins may be red, purple, or blue, which makes them difficult to mask. Since spider veins typically multiply over time and lead to stronger visibility, it's wise to get help when you first notice them. To minimize the look of spider veins or other vascular lesions on the face and body, Essential Dermatology Group performs laser vascular treatments for individuals in Bedford, TX. Schedule an appointment with board-certified dermatologist Dr. Calvin Williams, and he will build a customized plan to meet your needs for your laser vascular treatment.

How Does Laser Vascular Treatment Work?

Nonsurgical laser vascular treatment sessions are performed in our Bedford, TX office as an outpatient procedure in about 20 – 40 minutes based on the number of areas being treated. During your procedure, you will be asked to relax in a reclined position in a private treatment room as the affected area is prepared. At your request, a topical anesthetic can be applied before the procedure to reduce any discomfort. The laser will be passed over the skin so the wavelengths can reach the veins through multiple pulses without affecting the surrounding tissues. The blood vessel takes in the laser energy, which collapses and closes the vessel wall. You will be allowed to leave our office right after the treatment to get back to your regular activities.

About Us
How much does laser vascular treatment cost?

Your laser vein removal treatment is priced depending on the number of veins are being treated and how many sessions are suggested to attain the desired results. During your consultation, your technician will assess your veins, the size of them and where they are located, and develop your custom treatment plan to help establish your cost. Essential Dermatology Group accepts numerous payment options and we frequently offer specials on procedures.

Where can laser vascular treatment be used?

Unwanted spider veins are often found on the face, thighs, back of the legs, and around the ankles. Anywhere a spider vein exists, laser vein removal may be an appropriate treatment method. Our state-of-the-art laser works with precision as it target the selected vein so the surrounding skin and tissue is unaffected.

Is laser vascular treatment painful?

Before your treatment, we usually can apply a local anesthetic to numb the area. Most patients feel a mild tingling or snap when the laser is aimed at the vein. Many laser systems on the market, like ours, have a built-in system that produce a cooling effect. This reduces discomfort while also preventing the laser from becoming too hot, which may cause damage.
