I’m a board-certified dermatologist and a proud native Texan — I grew up in Amarillo and have spent most of my life in this state. After earning my medical degree at Dartmouth and completing my residency at Baylor College of Medicine — where I served as Chief Resident — returning to Texas to practice was an easy decision.
Dermatology lets me do something I genuinely love: build real, lasting relationships with patients. I’m not just treating a condition in isolation — I’m getting to know the person behind it, understanding their history, their concerns, and what matters most to them. Whether you’re coming in for a routine skin cancer screening, dealing with acne that hasn’t responded to anything else, or curious about what a laser treatment can do for your skin, I’ll give you a clear, honest explanation and a plan that actually fits your life.
I earned my medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH, and returned to Texas for my Dermatology Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where I served as Chief Resident. My training included service at the Veterans Affairs, Texas Children’s, and Ben Taub County hospitals — experiences that gave me a deep appreciation for treating patients across a wide range of backgrounds and conditions.
In addition to my work at Essential Dermatology Group, I serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at UT Southwestern, where I teach medical students and residents at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Hospital. Staying connected to academic medicine keeps me current on the latest evidence and techniques — and I bring that directly to my patients in Bedford.
I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
My practice covers the full spectrum of dermatology:
Medical dermatology: Acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, and skin infections — conditions I see every day and take seriously, because I know how much they can affect a patient’s confidence and quality of life.
Surgical dermatology: Skin cancer screenings and excisions, mole removal, biopsies, cysts, and lipomas. Early detection matters — and when something needs to come off, I’ll make sure you understand every step of the process.
Cosmetic dermatology: I offer advanced laser treatments including the Helix CO2 fractional laser and LaseMD Ultra — two of the most effective options available for skin resurfacing, texture, scarring, and signs of aging. I’ll always help you understand what a treatment can realistically achieve so you can make the decision that’s right for you.
I believe every patient deserves to be listened to. I take time to explain what I’m seeing, why I’m recommending a particular treatment, and what you can expect — because an informed patient is a better partner in their own care. You’ll never leave my office wondering what just happened or what comes next.

I’m glad I chose to go with Essential Dermatology! The office is very nice and clean. From the time I walked in everything was very organized plus there was no wait time. The medical assistant and Dr Cooper were amazing; not only did they take the time to explain everything for me they also informed me of what the next steps would be. Highly recommend this office!
