Dr. Shaun Cooper, a proud Texan, is a Board-Certified Dermatologist with deep roots in the Lone Star State. He earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH, and returned to his warm Texas roots to complete his Dermatology Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
During his time at Baylor, Dr. Cooper not only excelled academically but also served as Chief Resident. His training included service at the Veterans Affairs, Texas Children’s, and Ben Taub County hospitals. In addition to his work at Essential Dermatology Group, Dr. Cooper is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at UT Southwestern. He teaches medical students and residents at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Hospital.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Cooper specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. His areas of expertise range from skin cancer screenings and excisions to managing acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, and benign growths like cysts and lipomas.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Cooper loves spending quality time with his fiancée, their cat Coco, and their dog Andre. A true Dallas sports fan, he can often be found cheering on the Cowboys and the Mavericks, hoping for another championship run.
Dr. Cooper is dedicated to providing evidence-based, cost-conscious dermatologic care to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area and the wider Tarrant County region for many years to come.

I had a wonderful experience at Essencial Dermatology Group located in Bedford, TX. My first experience was with Ashley the assiisant. She is totally awesome, she made me feel comfortable. Dr. Cooper was great, he was very knowledgeable of my condition. He was not in a rush, he took his time to explain things to me. Thank you!!!
My first visit was very good. Clean facility and on time for appointment. Dr. Cooper and staff were thorough and invited all my questions. Gave me helpful tips to watch and care with my skin. Glad I made a switch to this office.
